Description

This target was (and for sure now is) meant to be just for the addition to my Messier catalog. If I had just known that M85 is actually super interesting, I would have taken more data! A little savior were the LUM data, RGB was really by far not enough, I barely got any color out of it. I was very tempted to just post the LUM image, which I thought looked better than the RGB additions to it. Desperately needed: some short exposures for the core of M85, so that it does not get blown out as it is in this image. But the surrounding clouds of stars are tremendous, and the 5 minutes were needed for this, they were almost invisible in the RGB data. This really fascinated me so much that I plan to add this one for next Spring as well ... looks more and more that next Spring will be a repeat of this year's images 😊.
So all in all a pretty crappy image, no need to beautify it with words 😊😊. One more down though ... 😊😊😊. The row from M81 to M90 has only 2 spots left ... the furthest I came with any row so far 😊. AND ... M83 and M89 are waiting to be processed 😊.
