Description

NGC 4945 is one of the brightest galaxies of the Centaurus A/M83 Group, and the second brightest galaxy in the subgroup centered on Centaurus A.

Its apparent size is 20' x 3' and apparent magnitude 9.3. It is distant from Earth by 11.3 million Light Years.

Please look carefully to see the great number of little galaxies spread out all over the surrounding space.

The image was taken with the following stack:

Luminance: 20 x 10 minutes bin 1x1

RGB: 10 x 10 minutes bin 1x1 each channel

Instruments:

Scope: RC-8" f/8 (no flattener or reducer)

Camera: ST8300M

Mount: EQ-6 Pro guided

Pre and Post Processing: Pixinsight

Bias, Darks and Flats applied

A note about ** Release 2 **

I did two things different with respect to the R-1

1- Applied a more agressive deconvolution on the luminance channel.

2- Pulled the color contrast of the final image still in FIT file format

A note about ** Release 3 **

A more neutral background has been achieved. Other than that, the image is the same of the Release 2
