Description

I gave the next tempting comet a photographic shot last night from the back yard. C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) is drifting through Virgo now, high in the southern sky from Arizona. It's not yet an easy find and I haven't tried to spot it visually. In the images, the comet's dust tail shows a bit of a curve peeling off a broad, dense coma. With a few months to blossom, I'm looking forward to how it progresses. Could be a really fun, bright one toward October. Or it could fizzle out as comets like to do, to keep one honest.
