Description

A two-frame mosaic.  Most of the data were taken with Moravian C5A-100M through RGB filters.  About 20% of the data were taken with a modified Fujifilm GFX-100S, which contains the same CMOS sensor (color version) as C5A. The original image has almost 200 mega pixels. The one uploaded here is a 60% reduction.

The data were taken in 2022, but only until recently I was able to process them to my satisfaction. A key is a deep wide-field image to serve as reference for gradient removal. The gradient removal was done with my own workflow based on Photoshop and Register. The wide-field reference image is here.

Before I was able to fully process the image, I used identical amounts of data from the uncooled mirrorless camera and the cooled mono astro camera to compare their quality. I used the images as a quiz for people on CN, to ask them which one was taken with the uncooled mirrorless and which one was taken with the cooled astro camera. Most people got the answer wrong. Some even got it wrong after I revealed the correct answer. The thread can be found here.

Rev.B (final) has more emphasis on the dust clouds in the outer regions, and slightly higher color saturation for nebulas.
