Description

IC 410, also known as the Tadpole Nebula, is an emission nebula located in the constellation Auriga. It gets its nickname, the Tadpole Nebula, from the long, tadpole-like shapes that are visible within the nebula. These shapes are formed by the interplay of gas and dust, sculpted by the radiation and stellar winds from a cluster of hot, young stars located near the center of the nebula. The stellar cluster responsible for shaping the nebula is known as NGC 1893, and it contains a number of massive, hot stars.IC 410 is situated approximately 12,000 light-years away from Earth.
