Description

VDB 4 is a reflection nebula located in the constellation Cepheus. It is a small, faint nebula that is illuminated by a nearby star. VDB 4 was discovered by the American astronomer Edwin Hubble in 1924 and is listed in the Van Den Bergh Catalog of Bright Nebulae, hence its name VDB. The nebula is located at a distance of about 2,200 light-years from Earth and is part of a larger complex of nebulae and star-forming regions known as the Cepheus Flare.
