The Cat's Paw Nebula is an emission nebula in the constellation of Scorpius (Scorpion). The nebula is about 50 light-years across and about 5,500 light-years from Earth. It is one of the closest H-II regions to the solar system. In the new general catalogue, it bears the designation NGC 6334.
NGC 6334 is a large star-forming region, occupying an area of the night sky slightly larger than the full moon. It is one of the most active star-forming sites producing massive stars in the Milky Way. The hot young stars embedded in the nebula are responsible for its glow. The stars are each about ten times the mass of the Sun and formed relatively recently, within the last few million years.

Der Katzenpfotennebel ist ein Emissionsnebel im Sternbild Scorpius (Scorpion). Der Nebel hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 50 Lichtjahren und ist ca. 5.500 Lichtjahre von der Erde entfernt. Es handelt sich um eine der dem Sonnensystem am nächsten gelegenen H-II-Regionen. Im neuen Gesamtkatalog trägt es die Bezeichnung NGC 6334.
NGC 6334 ist eine große Sternentstehungsregion, die einen Bereich am Nachthimmel einnimmt, der etwas größer ist als der Vollmond. Es handelt sich um eine der aktivsten Sternentstehungsstätten, die massereiche Sterne in der Milchstraße hervorbringen. Für sein Leuchten sind die im Nebel eingebetteten heißen jungen Sterne verantwortlich. Die Sterne sind jeweils etwa zehnmal so massereich wie die Sonne und entstanden vor relativ kurzer Zeit, innerhalb der letzten paar Millionen Jahre.

If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
