Description

The video shown covers 20 minutes in real-time, recorded on 18.12.2023 from 22:20 to 22:40 CET (for acquisition details, refer to my previous image: https://www.astrobin.com/e442uf/)

With the permission of the Swiss Meteor Astronomy Working Group (http://www.meteorastronomie.ch/detaildatafk.php?id=254), the trajectory of the meteor (movement from A to E) could be visualized with the help of two additional stations (SON and GNO). The calculations where carried out and kindly provided to me by Beat Booz.
Altitude A: 110km
Altitude E: 82km
Length of trajectory: 54km

I wonder about the source causing the illumination of the residuals, considering that the sun had already set for quite some time, even at altitudes of about 100 km.
Perhaps the nearly setting moon illuminated the trail, as there are no major light-polluting cities nearby, except for Milan, which probably might be too far away.

It's also quite amusing how noticeable the highway of geostationary satellites south of M42 becomes in this video when zoomed in.

The video is a composite of the base image (https://www.astrobin.com/e442uf/) and 40 subs of 30s each showing the meteor event combined using PixelMath.
Each of those single subs had to be streched quite a bit and started to show unpleasant artifacts that had to be treated delicately. Unfortunately the method of applying the exact same processing to all subs  as a Batch using Pixinsight (with ImageContainer and ProcessContainer) did not work out. Therefore, not only did most of the frames need individual processing, but their brightness also varied significantly, which I tried to mitigate with a linear fit. All in all it kept me busy for quite some time.

For creating the video, I used the software "Flowframes" which also employs frame interpolation for a smooth playback.
