Description

The Wizard Nebula (NGC 7380) • Starry & Starless versions in faux Hydrogen Oxygen Oxygen (HOO) palette to reveal structure.

The Wizard is an emission nebula located 8,500 light years from the Sun in the Perseus arm of our Milky Way galaxy.

I imaged this nebula on 12/23/21, but only processed the data this week. I skipped it for a while, because I was not happy with how I had captured it. This image is basically what NOT to do with a RASA 11 telescope. My subs were 5 minutes long (blown out stars) and I shot it in the bin2x2 format (loss of resolution). I processed the data I captured just to see of I could revive it. I’m not impressed, but not too disappointed.
