NGC 206 is an association of bright young stars in the Andromeda Galaxy.
This region of the galaxy also contains a number of globular clusters (see the Annotated Revision B). Particularly the B316-G040 cluster on the right is clearly distinguishable from the stars. Given its apparent size of at least 12 arcseconds and distance about 2.5 million light years, it it about 150 light years in diameter. I.e. M13 would look like that when viewed from the Andromeda Galaxy
The globular clusters and other objects in the field have been labeled by PixInsight's AnnotateImage script. I've used the
Revised Bologna Catalogue of M31 globular clusters and candidates: RBC (V.5, August 2012) [1].
This is my second attempt to image NGC 206 and globular clusters in our neighbor galaxy.
The project started on 20th September. However the weather was very uncooperative
and after two month I was able to gather only 17 hours of good data.
I've used ColorCalibration in PixInsight with background reference from another image.
The PhotometricColorCalibration did not work with this image for some reasons .
