Description

First image after months! My rig had multiple issues and coupled with *very* cloudy weather last fall, I had no imaging done. The secondary focuser on my scope started to Jam and I had to finally add in a Primaluce ESATTO focuser in the rear of the scope to get around the problem. Now the system is working fine.
In addition, I switched out the camera from QHY600 to QHY294m since I was basically not using most of the real estate of the full frame sensor. Most of my targets with this scope are going to be smaller objects and I want to save myself the trouble of transferring huge frames. Lets see how this goes. I am planning to use the QHY600 on my Epsilon .. if all goes well.

I chose this image for 2 reasons. I Always loved the bok globules in the Rosette and it is also easier target to test on. The inky bok globules look especially good in this field full of emission background . The little bits escaping gives a sense of motion or force to the image.
I think the image mapping turned out very nice. Much more than I expected. Original plan was to go with SHO image but I like this rendering with the Ha popping up behind the dust. So I am going to leave this as a bicolor image.

I shot this mostly when the moon was up and ended up with decent amount of Ha. I picked OIII when moon was down.
Ha - 120x10 minutes
OIII -  28x10 minutes
