Description

On the border between Cepheus and Draco, and just west of the Iris nebula (NGC 7023), is this complex of nebulae usually relegated only to appearing in wide-field photographs of its famous companion.

The main structure is cataloged as LBN 468, an HII (ionized hydrogen) region, on which dark clouds are superimposed, including LDN1158 in the upper left corner, as well as LDN1147 and LDN1148, parallel and similar in shape, to the left of the center.

In the upper central part, LDN1152 stands out, a dark structure in the form of a loop, which houses a young star cataloged as IRAS 20359 + 6745, which partially illuminates the nebula.

North is up.

Capture made during three consecutive nights. The technical problems of the first night were corrected for the rest but the entry of clouds and haze from North Africa complicated the sessions. Also had some issues with the coordinates on KStars Scheduler, so many of the subs are slightly mis-framed.
