Description

The Ring Nebula  - M57 - is a planetary nebula in Lyra. Such a nebula is formed when a star, during its last stages of evolution, before becoming a white dwarf, expels a vast luminous envelope of ionized gas into the surrounding space. All the interior parts of this nebula have a blue-green tinge that is caused by the doubly ionized oxygen emission lines. In the outer region of the ring, part of the reddish/golden hue is caused by hydrogen emission . - Parts from Wiki

I originally imaged M57 in 2021 but didn't have enough time to get the shell. In 2022 I imaged nothing but Ha in order to hopefully pick up some of the shell. However, for reasons unknown I put it all  away and forgot about it. Now in February 2024 I've been away from home, for family reasons, and was looking for some images to process when I came upon my unfinished M57. It came together nicely and I am fairly pleased. Of course, its been cropped.
