Description

NGC 3324 is an open cluster with surrounding emission nebulosity, nestled up along side Carina Nebula in the southern constellation Carina.

You may recognise this as one of the first JWST images (Cosmic Cliffs) released back in 2022 - note the familiar 'knob' at the bottom of the deep blue lagoon.

I captured this from my backyard using narrowband Ha/Oiii/Sii filters and processed in Pixinsight in an attempt to replicate the colours of the more famous JWST image.

I was surprised with the amount of detail I was able to capture, compared with both JWST and Hubble images.
