Description

M2 contains about 150.000 stars and is one of the larger globular clusters known, some 55.000 lightyears nearby our solar system at the center halo of the milky way, 175 lightyears across and about 12 billion years old.- so really old in terms of universe age.

Globular cluster are somewhat stable remains of completely star formed regions, held together by gravity and with a stagnated stars birth activity. They tend to dwell in the center halos galaxies, as does M2 in the milky way.

image of M2 in simply taken on UHC on a OSC - 317x very short 30s exposures in experimenting with very short exposures.
