Description

The planetary nebula Jones 1 in Pegasus was discovered in 1941 by Rebecca Jones on film plates from the Harvard Observatory. It is of medium brightness and relatively large size (5.3 arc min). As with many planetary nebulae, the hot blue central star stands out nicely. There is a nearby dim speck of Ha emission which is likely associated with the nebula. A number of small galaxies are also visible in the field on close examination.

Taken over 15 nights between November 20th and December 23rd 2023 from SkiesAway Observatory in California.
