Description

SH2-132  in Hubble Palette

SH2-132 is a faint emission nebula that is approximately 10,000 light-years away from Earth.
Also known as The Lion Nebula, SH2-132  is a concentrated HII region with star clusters, emission nebulae, and dark dust regions.
The Nebula is located in the southern portion of the constellation Cepheus.

I started collecting data for this image almost a year ago and recently added more Oiii data using my newly acquired Optolong 3nm filter
I used the HOO Normalization Script in Pixinsight to convert the HOO combination to 'SHO' (Thanks again to Bill Blansham for his 'genius' Pixelmath)
A lot of colour masking and subtle curves work was required but well worth the effort.
RGB Stars were masked in after processing and then colour boosted.
I decided to crop the image quite a lot into a square format to focus attention on the dust structures.
Clear Skies!!!
