Description

I must admit for a starry landscape photo, this is rather boring. But what makes this exciting to me is it's taken 14 miles outside New York City where you see maybe a dozen stars in the sky on any given night. To see this many stars in a photo is amazing to me. Of course this took a lot of post production work to bring out the stars and it's also a 6-panel panorama (2 rows, 3 across) and each panel is a stack of 10-15 photos to really bring out the sky detail that is not visible to the naked eye at all here.

I hope to visit a dark sky site next year to capture the milky way, just been practicing in my backyard for the time being.

This was taken with a Canon R6, Sigma 28mm f1.4 ART on a Robus Tripod with a Really Right Stuff PG-01 Panorama head.
