Description

The Triangulum galaxy, ~2.73MLYs, is our second closest galaxy neighbor next to Andromeda, ~2.54MLYs.  The Triangulum, Andromeda and the Milky Way are the 3 largest galaxies in our Local Group which contains 36 galaxies.  I've found it to be a bitch-kiddy to capture and process...so much harder than Andromeda 🤪.  I was never happy with my previous attempts.  This year's version is about as best I can do from my backyard...I'm almost satisfied. 😀

Interestingly, both M33 and M31 are moving toward our own.  M33 could become a third party involved in the impending collision between the Andromeda and Milky Way galaxies more than 4 billion years from now.    The blue-colored regions are sites of rapid star birth.  I gently blended in Ha to bring out the amazing number of nebula in the spiral arms as most do.  One of which, NGC 604, is 100 time larger than our Orion Nebula and contains more than 200 hot, massive young stars, (Orion has 4).  Can you imagine what imaging there would be like…probably not!  🤪  -john
