Description

A blue sky storm is announced in our beautiful Ubaye Valley (France). Normally this would have annoyed me somewhat because I had planned to go and find beautiful dark atmospheres in the mountains.
In my “misfortune” when the evening comes, now, I raise my eyes a little more to the sky to scan the first stars.
We are February 28, 2022, I decide to face my old demons: to photograph a Galaxy. I will not dwell on the technical aspect of the shooting conditions but I am particularly happy to present the M101 galaxy, or the Moulinet galaxy, located in the famous constellation of the Big Bear, at a whopping 22 million light years from our Milky Way.
Absolutely extraordinary time and distance scales! And how to describe this fascination to you when I saw the first raw image appear giving birth to this final version after a few hours of battle to process this signal coming from the confines of our known universe.
See you soon...on Earth this time!
