Description

My new mount and scpoe finally arrived, and what a beast it is! I didn't expect everything to be this big and heavy. I'm actually having a hard time taking it all outside and set it up. I can't set up right outside my door, since there are a lot of obstructions around. I need to carry everything a bit futher out, about 30 meters, which I know isn't that far, but I have to make that trip back and fourth so many times during the night, carrying all that equipment back and fourth. It's a big hurdle to overcome for this already difficult hobby.

I feel like this telescope might be a bit too big for this mount, at least for astrophotography. Got some star trails on my subs with 30 seconds. I am shooting unguided though, it would probably help to get a guide scope, and a guide camera, and a dedicated astro camera, and a coma corrector, and a bigger battery, and... and... and...
Oh boy, where do you even stop? When is it enough?

Anyway, summer is fast approaching, so I used the few hours of dark skies to full extent and captured two galaxies that had long been on my list. Well, tried to capture at least. More on that in my next post.
