Description

Here is a further crop of M33, this time of the massive HII region, NGC 604 which can be seen in the upper right of my image of M33's core www.flickr.com/photos/terryhancock/6224846792/in/photostream

I had to reprocess the RGB the LUM and HA from scratch as the Nebula is really blown out in the original shot of M33. Not a lot of detail but this was shot with a 5" refractor.

NGC 604 lies in a spiral arm of the nearby galaxy M33. This colorful nebula is similar to familiar star-birth regions in our Milky Way galaxy, such as the Orion Nebula containing more than 200 brilliant blue stars within a cloud of gases some 1,300 light-years across, nearly 100 times the size of the Orion Nebula.
