Description

Solar Eclipse Time Lapse.
Collected SER files (video) using Firecapture throughout the session (~ 100 minutes). Each video file for up to 1minute (~10GB per file).
Time Lapse work flow.
-- On Windows
  - Used PIPP to load all SER files. 'Join' mode, with  ‘Input Frame Dropping’ = 100 (i.e. pick 1 out of 100 frames).
  - Processed in three batches (1) pre-eclipse and (2) post-eclipse - SER files with planetary options, selected align/center etc and created another SER. Then used SERPlayer to extract 'tiff' files. (dropped additional frames to speed up the time lapse a bit).
  - Extracted frames manually (3) (more than usual) from the SER file (during full eclipse moment) (full covered disk).
 - On Mac.
   - Downloaded all tiff files from windows to Mac computer.
   - QuickTime Player -> File -> Open Image Sequence -> Select Files -> Choose Media and create .mov file with all tiff files.
   - Finally process .mov file by importing into iMovie software. (Speed up/slow down, crop, additional color processing can. be done here) and then export file with desired resolution.
