Astrophotography Gear Setup

Description

I thought I'd share a picture of my gear setup as many people on this website do. The 80mm refractor has a lens taken from a Meade "Adventurescope" I used to own, and I redesigned a body and crayford style focuser around it, why might someone do this instead of just buying a new scope one might ask? well it comes down to budget and also just purely for the fact that it was fun! as I am also  a 3D printing nerd and 3D modeling fanatic, I knew I could make a scope that would match off-the-shelf designs. Obviously, the body of the telescope is plastic so I worry that in the summertime if I accidentally leave it outside during the daytime things might melt.

The mount is a recently acquired ioptron CEM26 that I have been pretty pleased with performance-wise so far, one thing I am new to however is the operation of a Meridian flip, I always worry that before my mount can perform the flip it will run the camera into the tripod and damage something.

I control the whole setup from N.I.N.A which I have found to be an absolute game changer for complete automation! I like to keep as little things as possible outdoors, so unlike most people that use the storage tub over their imaging laptop, I actually keep my host computer inside and communicate with the rig over a 70ft long active USB 2.0 cable which actually works surprisingly well.
