Description

What a winter it has been. I couldn't even get my usual 15 minutes per channel for the RGB stars on this one.

Back in November I tried to choose a part of the Spaghetti Nebula that would have some sweeping arcs of blue in an HOO representation. I also like to have some part of my images with just the blackness of space to contrast the area within a nebula. That led me to this framing as a target.

The Spaghetti Nebula lies at a distance of 3,000 light years and covers 3 degrees of sky (6 times the width of the Moon - that's a lot of pasta!). It is estimated to be 40,000 years old.

I am also trying something new with the stars by bringing out the halos around them. I think it adds depth to an image. I'd love to hear what everyone thinks, even if you don't agree!
