Description

After starting this image in February I was finally able to complete it on 19th April after a frustrating very poor period of weather during March here in the UK.
The classic face-on spiral galaxy M100 and one of the brightest in the Coma Virgo cluster so an ideal target for my Bortle 7/8 skies. I framed this to include NGC4312 at the top of the frame and the field also shows many faint galaxies in the background which is always interesting to reveal. NGC4322 to the lower left appears starlike in this image, I originally suspected an error in the database but checked and it is an SB0 galaxy at 14th mag.
