Description

NGC 2841 is an unbarred spiral galaxy in the Ursa Major (UMa) constellation about 47.6 million light-years away from Earth.
The galaxy is a prototype of a “flocculent galaxy”, having short and discontinuous arms that host a lot of young and hot stars, but a low star formation activity.
Due to its spectral line, NGC 2841 seems to have a massive nuclear bulge, with a low-ionization nuclear emission region (LINER) at the core.
It’s the largest member of the NGC 2841 galaxy group, visible between the UMa and Lynx constellations about 41 million l.y. away from us.
