Description

The California nebula is a particularly beautiful DSO, located in the constellation of Perseus: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Nebula#cite_note-3. For me personally it has a special meaning, because this summer I made a trip along the USA west coast with my family, including ofcourse the sunshine state.

Finally a few hours of clear skies again. I didn't waste the opportunity and had my target chosen and rig set up, early in the afternoon.
I attached the 0,7 reducer and used my dual narrow band 3 nm filter, so I had to pump up the gain, both for the main camera and for the guide camera in order (ZWO ASI2600 MC Duo) to do proper tracking. In the end it went smoothly.  Imaging went well, but still I had to throw away 10 subs or so because of clouds and my neigbours alarm lights!

Processing was a bit tricky, but I like the end result a lot. Believe it or not I hardly did anything on color or saturation!
