Description

Taken over several nights: July 27-30; August 4-5, August 8

This prominent ridge is an HII region catalogued as IC 5067 and is part of the Pelican Nebula in Cygnus. The ridge spans about 10 light years across and is located about 2,000 miles from Earth. Several Herbig-Haro (HH) objects are located within the nebula. The clearest HH example in the image, HH 555, is at the tip of the tall pillar with the two narrow jets. Six other HH objects are located within IC 5067.
