Description

Cygnus actually is the Latinized Greek word κύκνος which means "swan." Within it are two very bright stars, the blue one that's found near the North America Nebula (NGC7000) called Daneb, and Sadr which is found further in. Both of these stars have names derived from Arabic, Daneb meaning "tail" and Sadr meaning "chest." Daneb actually comes from "Daneb al-Dijajah" which means "Tail of the Hen." Now I don't know whether it was called Hen first in the Middle East, or Swan first in Greece but regardless I think it goes to show the mixture of these two cultures going back thousands of years.

I collected the data for this over two separate nights using two different mounts and setups. And I thought I had actually lost the data due to the color noise I was getting, but I retook the calibrations and the results came out great!
