Description

This is a section of the Eastern Veil Nebula (NGC 6992) that is sometimes referred to as the Bat Nebula.  The veil nebula is a supernova remnant approximately 1,500 light years away in the constellation of Cygnus.

The Bat was photographed between 24 November 2021 and 23 July 2022.  Capture details are as follows:

Telescope: TEC140
Camera: QSI 690
Filters: Astrodon
Mount: 10 Micron GM2000HPS

Ha: 26 x 1200s
OIII: 24 x 1200s
SII: 24 x 1200s
Red: 43 x 300s
Green: 43 x 300s
Blue: 43 x 300s

A total of 35 hours and 25 minutes exposure.
