I will be installing 3 fast newtonians (two 10", one F3.4 and one F3.8, and a 6" F3) remotely in the next months. All three require fixing collimation from time to time (maybe not so often in a fully remote setup as currently i need to uncover/cover them every time i use them which introduces unwanted vibrations). I was wondering if there is an easy way to check and fix collimation without removing the camera every time (which requires taking new flats). What i mean is if there is a way i can remotely "guide" an operator telling how to fix collimation without the need for him to remove the imaging train. I do something very similar with my RC using the skywave wavefront analyzer. Star tests arent a reliable solution as there is always an offset to consider and the offset is different for every scope (also you cant adjust the secondary) |

I think N.I.N.A. has a plug-in for that. |
