Description

This extremely faint reflection nebula rises just before midnight on Halloween.  It is believed to be an ancient supernova remnant.  It is (very dimly) illuminated by Rigel, the brightest star in Orion.  The dust cloud reflects more blue light than red, hence the eerie purplish glow.
