Description

This one is about the same size as our own Milky way Galaxy being some 100,000 light years wide.
It is about 30 million light years away from us and appears to be 13.5 x 2.5 arc minutes.
If a 50 pence coin which is c. 3 cm wide  (UK money) represents the size of this galaxy, 1 million light years is represented by 30 cm.
Therefore 30 million light years is represented by 9 metres. Now place 2 coins 9 metres apart and be stunned by how lonely we are.
This image is cropped. Happy to have also caught NGC 898 in the lower right of the frame and it is c. 273 million light years away.
