Description

I always wanted to do a large Mosaic of the Milky Way Center and ended up with a first try during my stay at Namibia.
I took the RGB-Line with my astromodified Canon RP and the Ha with my 6200mm Pro with a Antlia 3nm Ha filter. All with the Samyang 135mm at f4. Some of the objects I did with higher resolution and combined them with APP (The Rho Oph region, the Lagoon Triplet, the Rim Nebula).
Planned was everything with the Nina Framing Assistent and captured also with Nina.
In total I took 130 panels down to Carina and the SMC. I stitched and processed all of the data what gave me 3Gigapixel of data. APP is not capable of stitching such large files so I first stitched smaller parts with APP and with a big overlap I stitched the whole thing in PTGui-Pro. Ended up writing my own PI scripts for fast tiling the whloe thing into smaller parts as PI and PS are not able to deal with large tiff-Files.
In the end I just post the part down to the Rim Nebula as I don´t like the outcome of the rest, and even this part here has some not so nice parts. Well, it was not alway clear and as I shot this during 5 nights just next to doing other things, the captured data could be better. That being said: I learned a bunch of working with large data, but I will have to return to capture better data.
Hope you like it anyways!
This is also not the full resolution as Astrobin also does not allow more than 270Megapixels or so.
