Description

This wonderful globular cluster is the third biggest globular cluster in the sky, behinde Omega Centauri and 47 Tucanae.
Its apparent size is that of a full Moon ! It lies in Sagittarius, very close to the Solar System at only 10'000 light years, and contains half a million stars.

The main challenge when imaging globular clusters is to keep the central part visible, which is often impossible. In this particular cluster, I managed to keep visible the stars of the core - or of the front part of the core !
