Description

Weather has been terrible throughout January. I was finally able to try and image the 'green' comet on Feb 1. I tried taking 1 minute exposures but I found that the comet is moving so fast that each image is slightly skewed from the previous. That would cause blurring/streaking of the comet if I tried to stack several images.

So I did my best processing a single 1 minute exposure. I used PixInsight and used the following process:
Debayer, ImageSolve. SpectrophotograhicColorCorrection,  RC Croman's BlurXterminator (deconvolution), RC Croman's NoiseXterminator, RC Cromans StarXtractor (produces a 'stars only' image and a 'starless image"), GeneralisedHyperbolic stretch on the starless image (the comet), HistogramTransform on the 'stars' image, PixelMath to combine.

This is the best I could do with a single 1 minute image. Just glad I was finally able to get out and both observe and image the new  comet.

Roger
