Description

Visible in the constellation of Hercules, M13 is one of the flashiest and brightest globular clusters in our sky. At a distance of 25,000 light years, the star cluster is gathered in a region with a diameter of about 150 light years. Approaching the dense heart of the cluster, over a hundred stars are crowded together in an area of about 3 light years. The closest star to the Sun is over 4 light years away.
