Description

In New Mexico it's rare to have any problem with dew, especially early in the evening. I was capturing 10 second stills in search of meteors. Just as things were really getting going I found dew covering my wide-angle lens. I made this time-lapse video so you can watch things fall apart. Luckily, I had a dew strap with me and after installation was able to to salvage some hours more.

(if you're new to capturing meteors almost everything you see moving in the sky here is aircraft or satellites. The meteors only appear in single exposures and will flash on and off in 1/30th of a second. I'll put a composite photo together that features the meteors and post that too.)

I had the field to myself. The flashes of red and white light are me; my headlamp and my car.
