Description

While viewing the Propeller Nebula with my Gen3 night vision eyepiece, I was struck by the wisps of nebulosity that pervade the area. To my eye, they resemble cirrus clouds commonly referred to as Mares Tails. As wonderful as I found them, there are very few wide field images of this region of northeastern Cygnus. People usually go in tight for Simeis 57 (aka the Propeller Nebula) or perhaps IC1318(b). I was going to title this image something like "The Neglected Mares Tails of Northwestern Cygnus".
