Description

The UFO Galaxy, NGC 2683 (UGC 4641, MCG 6-20-11, ZWG 180.17, KUG 0849+336, PGC 24930) is a barred spiral galaxy, located about 35 light-years away in the constellation Lynx.  
First discovered by William Herschel in 1788. NGC 2683 was nicknamed the UFO galaxy as its shape looked like the classic UFO saucer from early Sci-Fi movies. 
The galaxy PGC 2030408 (16.8m) is visible under NGC 2683.
