Description

Hi folks,
After lots of considerations and thoughts about becoming a "daytime" astrophotographer, I finally managed to set up a nice combo with my old Lunt LS60T/BF600 that I (and my wife...but can't remember if she actually has paid her part) own for more than a decade. After years of inactivity, I gave a first look last summer and figured out that the blue filter was completely blurred. A quick call to the European Lunt official retailer in order to replace it and the scope was showing nice, contrasted and crisp images again.

So now, what about the mount? After selling my travel mount, I was stucked with photo tripod and ball head that aren't very suitable for visual observation nor photography... Considering that kids will also love watching the sun one day, I decided to break the piggy bank and buy a dedicated solar mount. I couldn't be happier with such a great piece of technology and simplicity! It took me a few days only to resist to the temptation of making my first solar image! Sending wife and kids away from home last Sunday , I made myself a date with our shining star.

So here is my first attempt...the final image is far from perfect as there is so many settings and adjustments I need to learn! But I really love solar imaging  Next step will be probably a mono camera to get better resolution of the surface and protus as well. But in the meantime, a lots of tutorials are feeding my YT playlist!

Clear skies, blue skies my friends!
Christophe
