Description

First light with the brand new ZWO AM5 mount!

The Rosette Nebula is an H II region located near one end of a giant molecular cloud in the Monoceros region of the Milky Way Galaxy. It is a vast emission nebula associated with an open cluster in the Monoceros constellation. The nebula lies at a distance of approximately 5,200 light years from Earth and has an apparent size of 1.3 degrees. The Rosette Nebula is a cosmic cloud of gas and dust that spans about 65 light years across. It contains enough material to form about 10,000 stars like our Sun. The Rosette Nebula is a beautiful deep-sky object that can be observed in the constellation Monoceros, also known as the Unicorn.
