M51 shot the L data as secondary target while shooting M82 late Jan and Feb.

I have been wanting to "check off" the most popular targets with the RCOS scope and try to go as deep as I can.. Got M81/82 done. Hoping to get M51, 101 and 106 done in this cycle. I switched the cameras on this scope from QHY600 to QHY294 (and moved the QHY600 to Epsilon for widefield) and I am liking the FOV . It is a better match IMO because the targets for this scope are much smaller and most of the FOV is wasted with the earlier combo. I am not very happy with this camera.... (the huge ampglow in uncalibrated subs doesnt inspire confidence but dark subtraction seems to be okay). I would prefer to switch to a more cleaner camera.. but this will have to do until I decide on one. (QHY268.. may be?).

I have been trying to be very selective in rejection and have tried to keep only the subs with best seeing in. The Ha is from older run (RCOS but with QHY600 camera) .
By starting with best subs, Deconvolution works very well (and easy to go too far) . Adding Ha did change the color balance (made the image cooler.. I tried to pull it back a bit).

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
