Description

Here we have M35 and NGC 2158 in Gemini. This is a beautiful couple of clusters, one (M35) being much closer at about 3,800 light years and much younger at about 175 million years old and the other being much older at about 2b years old and about 11,000 light years away.

I find the contrast between the two very visually pleasing.

I wanted to use shorter subframes to improve star profiles but there is still a bit of clipping of the bright stars going on here. I did come up with a way to actually view this during my setup to better determine if the bright stars will clip in my imaging going forward.

Anyway, I hope you like it!
