Description

The Double Cluster (Caldwell 14) consists of two Open Clusters - NGC 869 and NGC 884. They are about 7500 light years from earth in constellation Perseus. The clusters are approaching earth at a speed of around 24 miles per second. This results in a phenomenon known as blue shifting - similar to the doppler effect, but for light instead of sound.
