Description

Featuring the intricate core of the Lagoon Nebula (Messier8) and its neighbor the Trifid (Messier20) a large star-forming region in the constellation Sagittarius processed in a mix of Foraxx and HSO. The Lagoon Nebula is an emission nebula about 5,000 light-years away and roughly 130 light-years in length composed primarily of hydrogen and containing many Bok globules on their way to becoming protostars. The Trifid's name is attributed to its three-lobed appearance. Messier 20 consists of several objects, an emission nebula, a reflection nebula, a dark nebula and an open cluster. The nebula has a magnitude of 6.3 and is approximately 5,200 light-years away.
