Living in the Netherlands it was quite the challenge capturing the Orion Nebula, surrounded by some big trees and roofs I only managed to get very little intergration time (1hrs 42 minutes in total).
Nevertheless I'm very happy with the outcome, I really tried bringing forward detail in the surrounding dust and also made sure I kept as much detail in the core as I could. To help with the core and created some short subframes which I combined in a seperate HaRGB stack, then I blended the core in through Adobe Photoshop.

For the stacking and stretching process I used Pixinsight, for color management and detail enhancement I mostly used Adobe Photoshop.

Because of the relatively short intergration time I had to battle a lot of noise in the image, because I didn't want to destroy details in the nebula itself by noise reduction I masked the nebula so my noise reduction would only affect the darker areas in the image. I did all this through photoshop with help of the camera raw filter.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
