A lesser known galaxy and neighbours in Grus. NGC 7418 has a very flat 2D appearance. Initially I thought my processing was lacking but that is what it really looks like. (Flat-Earthers will be delighted.) There are not too many other images of NGC 7418 to compare to. It is 54 million light-years away and 58,000 light-years across and small apparent size at 3.7 x 2.8 arc-minutes and magnitude 11.1 or so.

The galaxy is slightly wonky. Apparently there is a super massive black hole in there somewhere and it might have something to do with its lack of symmetry.

Off to the right is spooky NGC 7421 is very similar in physical size to NGC 7418 55,000 light-years across but more distant at 79 million light-years.

Marked background galaxies go down to magnitude 19 (e.g., PGC 627379) about the limit of the PGC catalog.
