Description

NGC7822 is a young star forming region in the constellation of Cepheus, and this is the last image that was taken with my TOA-150.  Frankly, not my favorite nebula, but it does have one interesting thing about it.  Namely, the star TYC4294-6-1.  This eclipsing binary contains an O5V star that is one of the hottest discovered within 1kpc of the sun, with surface temperatures of nearly 45,000K and 100,000 times the luminosity of the sun.  It is one of the primary stars illuminating the nebula and is shaping the column like formations directly above it in this image.  I have shown the location of TYC4924-6-1 in the mouse over image.
